Kumbh Mela hosted over 22 crore visitors this year. One of the main aims of Kumbh was to ensure and promote proper sanitation as lack of toilets in Kumbh have resulted in cases of open defecation in the past.

This year, over 3000 SATO toilets were installed at the mela for an open defecation free experience. Nukkad nataks were also presented on benefits of safe sanitation at the premises.
